The red carpet at the Emmy’s, recently, clearly favored one tone above all else: red. Nothing says glamour and glitz like a red dress. But Kerry showed us how to do romantic and sultry at the 2011 Costume Institute Gala. Kerry looked to Escada for this delicate mint-hued chiffon dress with plunging neckline and cut-away detail. Even before it became a trend, the fashionista knew the appeal of cutout dresses. Her sexy, custom-made Escada gown went beautifully with her skin tone and highlighted her incredible figure.
At this year’s Met Gala, style icon Kerry Washington subtly played into the punk theme with the fishnet décolletage of her Vera Wang custom gown and her opera-length leather gloves. The metallic floral print dress, with its silk-and-lace detailed train, was striking.
Chaos to Couture, Washington slipped into a shimmering peacock-printed Vera Wang gown. Paired with extra-long leather gloves and the actress’s impromptu peek-a-boo purple streaks, the ensemble was one of the evening’s highlights.
