IT ALL
Toure
FUSE Host
New York, NY
A man that can navigate us
through the fickle and unpredictable
waters of pop culture,
Toure is a connoisseur in this field. He is
a BET correspondent, author and the
first Pop Culture Analyst on CNN. You
have seen him everywhere from MTV to
The O’Reilly Factor. He is an author
penning the Portable Promised Land,
which is a collection of short stories, and
Never Drank the Kool-Aid, collections of
his magazine work. A native of Boston,
MA, Toure left Boston with one goal in
mind-to inform the world of the empowering
effect hip-hop artists are having on
a generation. His route to success can
be considered unconventional, interning
at Rolling Stone and then later being
fired for outsourcing his work to the other
interns so he could spend his time engaging
in conversations with writers and
editors. His approach worked, because
when Rolling Stone was ready to cover
some of the biggest hip-hop acts, they
called Toure back, which led him to
doing stories on Lauryn Hill, DMX, Beyoncé,
50 Cent and Eminem. This platform
chartered him to writing his first
fiction works, his writing have appeared
in the New Yorker, the New York Times,
the Best American Essays of 1999 and
more. Toure’s determination has helped
him fulfill the mission of becoming a oneman-
media conglomerate.
