It is important that African Americans feel the need to overcome the idea of the glass ceiling. This is the theory that there is a limit to where we can go and what we can achieve as African Americans. What we must remember, and instill in each generation after us, is that the glass ceiling is a self-in-flicted boundary that will continue to be exploited so long as we allow it to be.
Fall 2007 Issue
In this issue of Monarch, we focus on an article entitled The Transfer of Wealth. In truth, this title can mean many different things to a lot of different people. Our understanding of The Transfer of Wealth is passing down financial assets from one generation to another. This is done through continuous communication with our significant others, siblings and children. It is giving education, dignity and power to those who will come after us. It is through this transference from family to family that the majesty of our past will become our eminent present and future.
